Hurricane Creek Campground is nestled in the wooded, rolling hills of southwestern Kentucky along Lake Barkley, a 57,900-acre reservoir with over 1,000 miles of shoreline. Operated by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District, this campground provides 51 sites with water and electric hookups, six of which are walk-to sites. Modern amenities include hot showers, laundry facilities, and a playground. Lake Barkley offers comfortable water temperatures in summer months and excellent fishing opportunities for catfish and trophy bass. Anglers, boaters, and water sports enthusiasts enjoy easy lake access from the campground. Wildlife spotting opportunities include white-tailed deer and raccoons throughout the wooded setting. Nearby attractions include the three-mile Lake Barkley State Park Trail and the Lyon County Museum, listed on the National Register of Historic Places, which highlights the area's immigration history dating back to 1865. The campground enforces USDA-certified heat-treated firewood requirements to prevent the spread of forest insects and disease.

From Paducah: Take I-24 east to exit 45, turn right on Highway 293 west for 0.3 miles, turn left on Highway 93 south for 5.3 miles, turn right on Highway 274 south for 5.7 miles, turn right on Hurricane Camp Road. From Nashville: Take I-24 west to Exit 56, turn left on Highway 139 north for one mile, turn right on Highway 276 for eight miles, turn right on Highway 274 for one mile, turn left on Hurricane Camp Road.
