About
Birmingham Ferry Campground is a quiet, no-frills camping destination situated along the shores of Kentucky Lake within the 170,000-acre Land Between the Lakes National Recreation Area. This self-service campground operates year-round on a first-come, first-served basis with no advance reservations. Campers select a site, complete a fee envelope, and deposit $10 cash or check in the Iron Ranger fee tube within 30 minutes of setup.
The campground provides basic amenities including designated campsite pads, picnic tables at each site, fire rings, grills, vault toilets, and trash pickup. A boat ramp offers convenient lake access for fishing and boating. Note that no potable water is available on site, so campers must bring their own supply. Firewood should be sourced locally rather than transported in.
The area follows LBL-wide regulations including quiet hours from 11 PM to 6 PM, a maximum stay of 21 consecutive nights, and a limit of 8 people per site. Pets are welcome but must be leashed (6 feet or less) and attended at all times. Holders of Senior, Access, or Military passes receive 50% off the camping fee.
