About
Hudner Ranch Primitive Campground is located in the 4x4 recreation area of Hollister Hills State Vehicular Recreation Area, offering two remote campsites in private settings: Hudner Pass and Ohlone. Access requires four-wheel drive vehicles with high clearance, and the entrance is controlled by a locked gate with codes provided at the main kiosk. Hudner Pass campsite is not accessible to vehicles towing trailers. The campground provides only the most basic amenities: pit toilets and designated areas for propane stoves and firepits. Campers must bring all water and supplies. Wood and charcoal fires are not allowed during fire season or red flag warnings, but propane equipment is permitted during fire restrictions. The campground is situated in scenic terrain ranging from 660 to 2,425 feet elevation, featuring oak woodlands, rolling hills, and seasonal creeks along the San Andreas Fault.
Directions
From Hollister, head south on Cienega Road for approximately 5 miles. Stop at the main entrance kiosk at 7800 Cienega Road to pay fees and receive the gate code. The Hudner Ranch entrance is located approximately 0.5 miles north of the main entrance on Cienega Road.
