Campsite at Pinnacles
Open

Open year-round. Reservations required via Recreation.gov; no first-come, first-served sites available. Fire danger is currently moderate with wood and charcoal fires permitted in designated fire rings. Expect heavy visitation and potential entrance delays on weekends and holidays, especially during spring wildflower season.

About

Pinnacles Campground is the only overnight camping option in Pinnacles National Park, located on the park's east side amid rolling terrain dotted with mature valley oaks, blue oaks, and coast live oaks. A seasonal creek runs through the grounds, and California condors can often be spotted soaring overhead from the campground itself. The campground offers tent sites with individual fire rings and picnic tables, RV sites with 30-amp electric hookups and shared community tables and BBQ areas, group sites accommodating up to 20 people, and rustic tent cabins sleeping four. Facilities include flush toilets throughout (with composting toilets in some areas), hot coin-operated showers, potable water, a dump station for registered guests, and a well-stocked camp store. A swimming pool operates from mid-April through September. Pinnacles is renowned for its 30+ miles of hiking trails, two talus caves (Bear Gulch and Balconies), and exceptional rock climbing. The park protects remnants of a 23-million-year-old volcano and serves as critical habitat for the endangered California condor. Pets are welcome in the campground on a six-foot leash but are prohibited on park trails. Generators are not permitted at any site.
