About

White Oaks Campground sits in a grove of towering oak and pine trees just off Tassajara Road in the Monterey Ranger District of Los Padres National Forest. Eight campsites form a loop around a central area filled with berry bushes and shrubbery where red-tailed deer and wildlife frequently forage. The natural canopy creates a shaded, secluded atmosphere at each site. Each campsite includes a picnic table and fire ring. Two vault toilets serve the campground, but no potable water is available, so campers must bring their own supply. The campground accommodates tent camping and small RVs up to 20 feet, though the rough dirt access road requires high-clearance or 4WD vehicles and is not suitable for travel trailers. The campground provides a launching point for exploring the Santa Lucia Range. The Pine Ridge Trailhead is 2.7 miles away via the dirt road that continues past the campground to China Camp, offering 23 miles of trail through valleys and oak woodlands. The area supports over 90 species of birds and frequent sightings of deer and bobcats.
