This is a day-use only facility with no overnight camping. The picnic shelter can be reserved for group events through Recreation.gov or used free on a first-come, first-served basis when not reserved. Reservations require 24-hour advance notice. Special events and gatherings over 50 people require a Special Activity Permit.

Holmes Bend Day Use is a day-use recreation area along Kentucky's Highland Rim at Green River Lake, operated by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. The facility centers on a group picnic shelter equipped with 20-amp electricity, 8 picnic tables, grills, and a handicap-accessible fire ring. The lakefront location provides views of the 8,000-acre reservoir. This is not an overnight campground. The nearby Holmes Bend Campground, located about 1 mile away, offers 125 campsites for overnight stays. The day-use area is intended for picnics, group gatherings, and events. Adjacent amenities include a playground, restroom, and parking lot. Special events such as weddings, fishing tournaments, or gatherings with more than 50 participants require a Special Activity Permit submitted 30 days in advance. Reservations for the shelter must be made at least 24 hours ahead through Recreation.gov. Pets are welcome but must be leashed.

Directions

From Columbia: Head south toward Burkesville St. Exit the traffic circle onto Campbellsville St (1.6 mi). Turn right onto State Hwy 551 (2.4 mi). Turn left onto State Hwy 682/Holmes Bend Rd and continue on Holmes Bend Rd (5.3 mi). Turn left, destination will be on the right.
