Situated along Kentucky's Highland Rim, Holmes Bend Day Use Area provides access to the pristine banks of Green River Lake. The facility is surrounded by forested tracts and rolling meadows, offering a scenic setting for day recreation. The area features a reservable picnic shelter, boat ramp, and courtesy dock for easy lake access. Green River Lake spans 8,000 surface acres and is ideal for boating, fishing, jet skiing, and wake boarding. Anglers target walleye, crappie, white bass, channel catfish, muskie, and bluegill. The area includes fishing pier access and connects to miles of trails that wind around the lake and along the shore. Holmes Bend Day Use Area is located near Holmes Bend Marina and the Holmes Bend Campground, which offers overnight camping options. The area is approximately 10 miles from the Corps of Engineers Visitor Center and historic Atkinson-Griffin Log Cabin. Mammoth Cave National Park and Abraham Lincoln's birthplace are within an hour's drive.

Directions

From Columbia: Head south toward Burkesville St, exit the traffic circle onto Campbellsville St (1.6 mi). Turn right onto State Hwy 551 (2.4 mi), then left onto Holmes Bend Rd (5.3 mi). Turn left; destination on the right. From Campbellsville: Head southwest on E Broadway St (0.6 mi), continue on US-68 W (0.5 mi), turn left onto KY-55 S (10.9 mi), left onto Cane Valley Rd (0.4 mi), left onto Kellyville Rd (0.9 mi), right onto Mt Carmel Rd (2.6 mi), left onto Holmes Bend Rd (3.9 mi), then left to destination.
