About

Holly Flats Campground is a primitive camping destination nestled along the scenic banks of Bald River within the Tellico River recreation area of Cherokee National Forest. The campground offers 15 rustic sites in a remote, wooded setting that provides excellent opportunities for stream fishing and access to nearby hiking trails. Each campsite includes a picnic table, camping pad, grill, and lantern post. The campground has vault toilets but no potable water, so campers must bring their own water supply. This is bear country, and all food and beverages must be stored in an approved bear-proof container, locked vehicle, or hard-sided camper. The campground operates on a first-come, first-served basis with no advance reservations. Payment can be made on-site using the Recreation.gov mobile app's Scan and Pay feature. Check-in is at 2:00 p.m. and check-out is at noon. Quiet hours are enforced from 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m., with a maximum of 5 people and 2 vehicles allowed per site.

Directions

From Tellico Plains, take TN 165 for approximately 5 miles, then turn right onto FR 210 past the Ranger Station. Continue about 14 miles upstream, then turn onto FR 126. The campground is approximately 6 miles on the left.
