Hodgdon Meadow Campground

Hodgdon Meadow Campground is located along the Big Oak Flat Road at Yosemite National Park's western edge, just half a mile from the Big Oak Flat Entrance Station. At 4,875 feet elevation, it provides a forested setting with mixed stands of Red fir, incense-cedar, Ponderosa pine, and Lodgepole pine. The campground is 25 miles (approximately 45 minutes) from Yosemite Valley. The campground offers 100 sites including standard vehicle sites, hike-to sites, walk-to sites, and four group tent-only areas. Each site includes a picnic table, fire ring, and bear-proof food storage locker (35"D x 43"W x 28"H). Roads and parking spurs are paved. Flush toilets and potable water are provided throughout. No hookups, showers, or cell service are available. Popular activities include hiking the 2.5 to 3-mile roundtrip trails to the Tuolumne and Merced Groves of Giant Sequoias. Yosemite Valley is 45 minutes away with access to waterfalls, granite cliffs, and the Merced River. Gas and minimal convenience items are available at Crane Flat, 8 miles away.

Directions

Take Highway 120 east from Manteca into Yosemite National Park via the Big Oak Flat Entrance. The campground is immediately on the left, half a mile past the entrance station. From Yosemite Valley, take Big Oak Flat Road northwest approximately 26 miles (45 minutes); the campground is on the right just before the park exit.
