Christmas Tree Cutting Permits Information: [Recreation.gov][1] Christmas Tree cutting permits will go on sale on Friday, October 10, 2025. Christmas trees are $10.00 each and there is a maximum of two (2) trees per permit for a total of $20.00. Fourth graders can use their Every Kid Outdoors pass to obtain one (1) free tree. There is an additional $2.50 reservation fee for all permits. Tree cutting dates are Friday, November 28, 2025, through Wednesday, December 31, 2025. Dimond O Campground occupies a prime location in Stanislaus National Forest, serving as the closest developed campground to Yosemite National Park's Big Oak Flat entrance and Hetch Hetchy Reservoir. Positioned along the scenic Middle Fork Tuolumne River, the campground offers a mix of riverside and forested sites beneath cedar and ponderosa pines. The campground features both single and double-family sites with paved roads and parking spurs. Each site includes a picnic table, bear box, and campfire ring with grill. The Middle Fork Tuolumne River provides excellent opportunities for swimming, wading, and rainbow trout fishing during warm summer months. Nearby trails include the Carlon Falls Trail at Carlon Day Use Area and various Yosemite trails accessible from Hetch Hetchy. The campground operates seasonally from late April through mid-October and offers a combination of reservable and first-come, first-served sites. Its proximity to Yosemite makes it an ideal base camp for exploring the park's legendary landscapes while enjoying a forested riverside setting.

From the Groveland District Office, head east 15 miles on Highway 120, then turn left on Evergreen Road and travel 4 miles. The campground is located on the left.
