Hollofield Campground is one of two campgrounds within Patapsco Valley State Park, Maryland's first state park, located near Ellicott City in Howard County. The campground provides 73 sites set among the forested hills of the Patapsco River valley, with options for both electric and non-electric camping. Each site includes a picnic table and fire ring on a designated camping pad. The surrounding Patapsco Valley State Park stretches over 16,000 acres along 32 miles of the Patapsco River, offering diverse recreation including hiking, mountain biking on rugged terrain, horseback riding on designated trails, fishing, and canoeing. The park's varied topography features dense forests, river valleys, and historic mill sites dating to Maryland's early industrial era. Campers whose units exceed 11'1" in height must enter the park via the Route 40 East Entrance due to low clearances on other access routes. The campground enforces quiet hours from 10 PM to 7 AM and limits stays to 14 consecutive days. Camp hosts are available on-site for assistance.

Directions

From I-695 (Baltimore Beltway), take Exit 15 onto US Route 40 West. Continue approximately 5 miles to the park entrance. Campers with units over 11'1" in height must use the Route 40 East Entrance to avoid low clearances.
