About
High Point State Park Campground occupies the eastern shore of Sawmill Lake within New Jersey's highest-elevation state park. The Kittatinny Ridge setting provides access to over 50 miles of trails, including a section of the Appalachian Trail, plus swimming at the park beach and fishing opportunities. The campground is a tent-focused facility with minimal infrastructure for RVs. The 50 family campsites accommodate up to two tents each, and some can fit small trailers. Every site includes a fire ring and picnic table. Pit toilets are within walking distance of the camping area. There are no hookups, dump station, or showers in the campground. Drinking water is available at the group camping area and park facilities, though campers should plan to carry water to their sites. Trash must be packed out.
Directions
From I-84 in New York, take Exit 1 onto Route 23 South. Follow Route 23 for approximately 7 miles into New Jersey to the park entrance on the right. The campground is located along Sawmill Lake Road within the park.
