About

Hartman Creek State Park Campground sits on the Waupaca-Portage county line in central Wisconsin, offering 103 family campsites divided between a mature red pine forest and an old apple orchard interspersed with hardwoods. Each site includes a fire ring and picnic table, and the campground has two modern restroom buildings with flush toilets and showers. The surrounding 1,417-acre park centers on Hartman Lake, providing opportunities for swimming, fishing, and non-motorized boating. An extensive trail network accommodates hikers, mountain bikers, horseback riders, and cross-country skiers depending on season. The Ice Age National Scenic Trail passes through the park, connecting to longer backpacking routes. Reservations are handled through the Wisconsin State Parks reservation system at wisconsin.goingtocamp.com or by calling 1-888-947-2757. A vehicle admission sticker is required for entry. The park gates are open 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. year-round, though the campground itself closes from December 1 through April 1.
