About
Hart-Tish Recreation Complex is a well-developed lakeside destination on Applegate Lake, located about 16 miles south of Ruch, Oregon in the Rogue River-Siskiyou National Forest. The campground offers views across the lake toward the peaks of the Red Buttes Wilderness to the south. Eight traditional tent sites are nestled in shaded trees, each equipped with a campfire ring and BBQ pit. Eight RV parking spots line the lakefront near the general store, offering convenient access but no hookups.
The complex includes an extensive day-use area with groomed lawn sloping to the water's edge, a cement boat ramp, swimming beach, and paddleboard/kayak rentals. The on-site general store stocks camping supplies, fishing gear, snacks, ice cream, and ice. An 18.5-mile trail system circles Applegate Lake, connecting to trails like the Da-ku-be-te-de Trail, Grouse Loop, and Collings Mountain Trail.
This is a popular recreation site that sees heavy use during the operating season. Reservations are required and made through Recreation.gov. Quiet hours begin at 8 p.m. and generators are restricted to specific daytime windows.
