Carberry Group Campground is nestled along Cougar Creek in the Rogue River-Siskiyou National Forest, offering creekside camping with nearby access to Applegate Lake. The campground operates as a group facility where you reserve the entire 10-site campground for your party. Site sizes vary, with smaller intimate locations adjacent to Cougar Creek providing a more secluded experience. Amenities include vault toilets, picnic tables, and fire rings at each site. There is no potable water, so campers must bring their own supply. Garbage disposal is provided during the operating season. The facility features wheelchair-accessible trails and amenities. Dogs are welcome but must remain on leash. The campground is open year-round, though during the off-season it operates as a walk-in site with no services and the gate remains locked. Peak season runs mid-May through mid-September. Reservations must be made at least 2 days in advance via Recreation.gov, and campers must check in at Hart Tish Park General Store to obtain the gate key.

Directions

From Jacksonville, OR, follow Highway 238 southwest for 6.5 miles, turning south on Upper Applegate Road (County Road 859) at Ruch, OR. Continue south for approximately 18.5 miles (the last 4 miles are along Applegate Lake) to the junction with County Road 777. Turn west (right) and travel about 0.3 mile. Carberry Campground is on the left side of the road.
