Hart-tish Park At Applegate Lake

Open

Open seasonally from early May through mid-September. Reservations available via Recreation.gov with a two-night minimum on weekends and holidays. Check-in at 2 p.m. at the general store.

About

Hart-tish Park at Applegate Lake is a scenic lakefront campground in the Rogue River-Siskiyou National Forest of southwest Oregon. The campground features beautifully groomed lawns sloping down to the lake with panoramic views of the Red Buttes Wilderness to the south. Eight tent sites come equipped with individual fire pits and BBQ grills, while eight dry RV sites offer lakeside parking without hookups. The on-site general store sells snacks, drinks, ice cream, ice, and fishing supplies. A cement boat ramp provides lake access, and kayak and paddleboard rentals are available. Flush toilets and potable water are provided, though showers and dump stations are not available. Recreation options include swimming, fishing, boating (10 mph speed limit), and hiking. The Collins Mountain Trail begins at the nearby day-use area and features panoramic lake views, historic mining relics, and a notable inactive Bigfoot trap built in 1974. An 18.5-mile trail circles the lake, popular with mountain bikers of all skill levels.
