About

Halls Gulch Dispersed is a primitive camping area situated in the backcountry of the Payette National Forest, managed by the Krassel Ranger District. Located at approximately 45.26 latitude and -115.72 longitude, this remote site sits in rugged terrain typical of Idaho County's mountainous landscape. As a dispersed camping area, Halls Gulch offers no developed facilities or amenities. Campers must be entirely self-sufficient, bringing all water, supplies, and equipment. All trash must be packed out. The Payette National Forest enforces a 14-day stay limit within any 30-day consecutive period; after reaching this limit, campers must vacate and cannot establish a new camp within a 5-mile radius of the original site. Access to this remote area may be limited by seasonal road conditions, with many forest roads in this region remaining snow-covered or impassable until late spring or early summer. High-clearance vehicles are recommended for backcountry forest roads in this area.

Directions

Halls Gulch is located approximately 2 miles southwest of Warren, Idaho. Access is via Steamboat Creek Road (Forest Road 50370), then onto the Arlise Gulch unauthorized road (503701000) leading to the Lucky Ben Mine.
