About
The Burgdorf Guard Station Rental Cabin sits at 6,250 feet elevation in a scenic meadow within the Payette National Forest. Fully renovated in 2024, this former Forest Service facility now offers comfortable overnight accommodations for up to four guests. The cabin includes two bedrooms each with a queen bed, a living room, full kitchen with refrigerator, gas range/oven, and sink, plus a full bathroom with flush toilet and wheelchair-accessible shower. The cabin is heated by a wood burning stove and illuminated by solar-powered lights. Note that no electrical outlets are available. A fire pit is located at the rear of the cabin. Limited kitchen utensils are provided, but guests should bring their own supplies. There is no trash collection, so pack out all garbage. The location provides excellent access to recreation including several trailheads departing from the nearby Burgdorf Campground: Nethker Creek Trail #143, Jeanette Creek Trail #140, and Burgdorf Trails #175 and #176. The area is within driving distance of Burgdorf Hot Springs, Warren Guard Station, and the historic towns of Secesh and Warren.
Directions
Travel approximately 30 miles north of McCall on the paved Warren Wagon Road (21). Turn left on gravel Forest Road #246 and in two miles the campground will be on your left. The Guard Station is just beyond the campground.
