About
Beaver Creek Equestrian Camp offers primitive camping tailored for riders and their horses in Ohio's rugged Columbiana County. The 59 sites sit off Sprucevale Road and provide direct access to an extensive bridle trail network winding through 2,722 acres of forested wilderness. Riders can explore trails along Little Beaver Creek, designated both a state and national wild and scenic river, while encountering historic remnants of the Sandy and Beaver Canal including lock structures and lock keepers' houses. The camp maintains its primitive character with vault latrines and a shelter house. Each site includes high lines for tying horses and a fire ring with grill for cooking. A large water trough serves the horses, and hand pumps are available to fill buckets. No potable water exists on site, though well water may be available on a limited basis to fill small containers up to 5 gallons. There are no showers, electric hookups, or water hookups for RVs or trailers. Trail difficulty varies considerably, from gentle slopes with groomed surfaces to challenging terrain with steeper grades and wider water crossings. The camp accommodates larger rigs with adequate space to park and turn around, making it accessible for those hauling horse trailers.
