About
Lower Narrows Campground is a small, primitive campground located 2.7 miles up South Willow Canyon from the Forest boundary in the Stansbury Range. Situated at 6,840 feet elevation, the campground features 3 single campsites nestled in a remote desert canyon forested with oak, maple, and juniper trees that provide partial shade. Willow Creek runs alongside the sites, offering rainbow and brown trout fishing opportunities.
The multi-use Stansbury Front and Medina Flat Trails begin nearby, offering access to the rugged Deseret Peak Wilderness for hikers and outdoor enthusiasts. South Willow Canyon Road is a scenic drive, though the road becomes gravel at the National Forest boundary and winds through interesting narrows. The road is steep, narrow, and not recommended for RVs or trailers.
This is a primitive campground with vault toilets but no potable water, so visitors must bring their own water supply. Each campsite accommodates up to 8 people and 1 vehicle, with tables and fire rings provided. The campground operates seasonally from late May through late September, weather permitting, and has a 7-day stay limit.
Directions
From Grantsville, take Cooley Street south for 5 miles to the South Willow Canyon turnoff. Continue up South Willow Canyon Road approximately 2.7 miles from the Forest boundary. The road becomes gravel at the Forest boundary and is not recommended for RVs or trailers.
