About
Cottonwood Campground is located southwest of Grantsville, Utah, in South Willow Canyon at an elevation of 6,080 feet within the Stansbury Range of the Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest. This primitive campground offers a remote desert canyon experience surrounded by oak, maple, and juniper trees that provide partial shade.
The campground features one single site and one double site, each equipped with tables and fire rings. Vault restroom facilities are available during the operating season, but there is no potable water system, so visitors must bring all water needed for their stay. Leashed pets are permitted.
The multi-use Stansbury Front Trail and Medina Flat Trail begin directly across the road from the campground entrance, offering access to the rugged Deseret Peak Wilderness for hikers and trail users. Willow Creek flows through the site and provides fishing opportunities for rainbow and brown trout. Grantsville Reservoir, located less than 5 miles away, offers additional fishing options. The campground has a 7-day stay limit and is operated by a concessionaire.
Directions
From Grantsville, head south on Mormon Trail Road. Turn right onto S Willow Rd/S Willow Canyon Road. The campground is located 0.7 miles up South Willow Canyon from the Forest boundary on a gravel road. Due to rugged access, RVs are not recommended.
