About
Cottonwood Campground is a small, primitive campground located 0.7 miles up South Willow Canyon from the forest boundary in the Stansbury Range. At 6,080 feet elevation, the canyon is forested with oak, maple, and juniper trees providing partial shade. Willow Creek flows through the site, offering rainbow and brown trout fishing opportunities. The campground serves as a gateway to the Deseret Peak Wilderness. The multi-use Stansbury Front Trail and Medina Flat Trail begin across the road from the entrance, providing access to the rugged backcountry. The campground has a 7-day stay limit and operates on a pack-it-in, pack-it-out basis. Campers must bring their own water as no potable water is available on site.
Directions
From Grantsville, head south on Mormon Trail Road. Turn right onto South Willow Road/South Willow Canyon. The campground is located 0.7 miles up South Willow Canyon from the forest boundary on a gravel road.
