About

Intake Campground sits at 6,320 feet in South Willow Canyon, part of the rugged Stansbury Range southwest of Grantsville, Utah. The remote desert canyon is forested with oak, maple, and juniper trees providing partial shade, while Willow Creek flows through the site. The campground serves as a jumping-off point for exploring the Deseret Peak Wilderness via the Stansbury Front Trail and Medina Flat Trail, both of which begin across the road from the campground entrance. The campground offers 4-5 single sites with vault toilets and picnic tables. No potable water is available, so campers must bring their own supply. Sites are primarily first-come-first-served with limited reservations available through Recreation.gov. The gravel access road is not recommended for trailers. A 7-day stay limit applies. South Willow Canyon Road is a scenic 7.1-mile drive with the last 4 miles unpaved. The area is known for wildlife viewing and the trout fishing opportunities in Willow Creek. Snow typically covers the upper canyon from November through mid-June.

Directions
