About

Upper Narrows Campground is a primitive Forest Service campground in South Willow Canyon on the Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest. Located southwest of Grantsville at 6,400 feet elevation, the campground features 6 single sites and group sites accommodating up to 50 people. Sites are dispersed over approximately one mile of gravel road through a scenic desert canyon forested with oak, maple, and juniper trees. Willow Creek flows alongside the campground, offering rainbow and brown trout fishing. The multi-use Stansbury Front and Medina Flat Trails start nearby, providing access to the rugged Deseret Peak Wilderness. This is bear country, so proper food storage is required. The campground is primitive with vault toilets, picnic tables, and campfire rings at each site. There is no potable water; campers must bring all water needed. The access road is gravel but passable by standard vehicles. Leashed pets are permitted with a maximum of two dogs per site.

Directions

From Salt Lake City, head west on I-80 for 36 miles. Take the Stansbury-Tooele/Route 35 exit and travel south 3 miles to Route 138 West. Continue 10 miles to Grantsville. Go through Grantsville to Cooley Street and turn south; drive 5 miles to the South Willow Canyon turnoff. The campground is 3.2 miles from the forest boundary via gravel road.
