Upper Narrows Campground is located southwest of Grantsville, Utah, in South Willow Canyon at an elevation of 6,400 feet within the Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest. This primitive campground is dispersed over a mile-long stretch of dirt road and offers a quiet, remote desert canyon experience. The area is forested with oak, maple, and juniper trees providing partial shade, while Willow Creek runs alongside the campsites. The campground features 6 single campsites, each accommodating up to 8 people and one vehicle, plus two group sites: one for up to 30 people and a larger walk-to site for up to 50 people accessed via a footbridge. All sites include picnic tables and fire rings, with vault toilets provided. No water is available, so visitors must bring their own. The dirt roads and parking spurs are suitable for smaller vehicles; RVs are not recommended due to the rugged access. Recreation opportunities abound with the multi-use Stansbury Front and Medina Flat Trails beginning nearby, offering access to the rugged Deseret Peak Wilderness for hiking and exploration. Willow Creek provides rainbow and brown trout fishing opportunities. The campground operates with a 7-day stay limit and is managed by Utah Recreation Company. Reservations can be made through Recreation.gov, with advance booking required at least 5 days ahead. Single sites cost $16 per night with an extra vehicle fee of $10. Directions

From Salt Lake City, head west on I-80 for 36 miles. Take the Stansbury-Tooele/Route 35 exit and travel south 3 miles to Route 138 West. Continue for 10 miles to Grantsville. Go through Grantsville to Cooley Street and turn south; go 5 miles to the South Willow Canyon turnoff. The campground is located 3.2 miles up South Willow Canyon from the Forest Boundary on a gravel road.
