About

Grandview Sandbar Campground provides a primitive camping experience along the New River in New River Gorge National Park and Preserve. Nestled among shaded woods near the riverbank, the campground offers direct access to swimming, fishing, and river activities. The facility includes 10 wooded drive-in sites suitable for RVs, campers, and tents, 6 walk-in tent sites, and 2 accessible sites located by the river. Due to the tight access road and winding approach, only small RVs (less than 25 feet) and medium RVs (22-31.5 feet) are recommended. There are no pull-through sites. The campground is primitive with no drinking water, electrical hookups, or dump station. Composting toilets are available year-round, and bear-proof trash receptacles are provided. Campers must use designated sites only, with a maximum of 2 tents or 1 tent and 1 RV per site, up to 8 people and 4 pets per site. Fire rings are provided at each site for campfires using dead wood found on the ground. The 14-day per 28-day camping limit applies. Located on Glade Creek Road off Route 41 near Prince, the campground provides a secluded riverside camping experience with easy access to New River Gorge attractions.
