Glade Creek Campground

Glade Creek Campground is a primitive, first-come, first-served campground situated in a forested setting along the banks of the New River within New River Gorge National Park and Preserve. The campground offers 11 designated sites total: 6 walk-in tent sites and 5 drive-in sites that can accommodate tents, RVs, or campers. One accessible site is available. There are no camping fees. The campground provides basic amenities including composting toilets and bear-proof trash receptacles. There is no potable water, so campers must bring their own supply. Each campsite has a fire ring, and campfires are permitted using dead wood found on the ground. Small to medium RVs and trailers up to 31 feet are recommended; large RVs are not advised due to road and site conditions. There are no pull-through sites or hookups. Glade Creek serves as a gateway to the Glade Creek Trail system, offering access to hiking and fishing opportunities. The campground features an accessible picnic area and fishing area alongside the accessible campsite. Camping is limited to 14 days within any 28-day period, with quiet hours from 10 PM to 6 AM.

Directions

Located at the end of Glade Creek Road, off Route 41 near Prince. Coming from Beckley, Glade Creek Road is a well-marked right hand turn before crossing the New River. Follow Glade Creek Road for six miles to the campground.
