Grandview Shelter 4 is a reservable day-use picnic shelter located in the Grandview area of New River Gorge National Park and Preserve. This medium-sized shelter sits beneath a forest canopy and can accommodate up to 64 people inside with an additional 26 outside, totaling approximately 90 guests. The shelter features one electrical outlet, two charcoal grills, and rearrangeable picnic tables. Guests may bring additional chairs and canopy tents. The Grandview area became part of New River Gorge National River in 1990 after serving over 50 years as one of West Virginia's most popular state parks. Located 1,400 feet above the river, the area offers spectacular views of the New River and beautiful rhododendron displays. Nearby amenities include a drinking fountain with side spigot, handicapped accessible restroom, playground equipment, horseshoe pit, volleyball court, baseball field, and basketball court. This is a day-use facility only and does not permit overnight camping. Alcohol, glitter, confetti, helium balloons, water balloons, fireworks, drones, and wading pools are prohibited. Pets must be kept on leash with waste removed immediately. Weddings and other special events require a Special Use Permit.

Directions

From Beckley, follow I-64 East five miles to Exit 129B. From Lewisburg, follow I-64 West forty miles to Exit 129. From either exit, turn right and follow Route 9 North six miles to Grandview.
