About

Gore Creek Campground offers 24 campsites along Gore Creek in a forested setting at 8,700 feet elevation, just six miles east of Vail. The campground features 16 back-in sites accommodating RVs up to 35 feet and 8 walk-in tent sites. Each site includes a picnic table, fire pit, and bear-resistant food locker. Vault toilets are available, including four ADA-accessible restrooms, and Site 18 is a fully accessible tent site. The campground's location near the Eagles Nest Wilderness boundary provides access to several wilderness trailheads for hiking and horseback riding. It also sits at the western terminus of the paved Vail Pass/Tenmile Canyon recreation trail, popular for cycling and walking. The town of Vail is the closest full-service community, offering dining, supplies, and world-class recreational opportunities. Campers should note that potable water is not available at this campground; bring your own supply. Bear activity is common, so proper food storage in the provided lockers is mandatory. Fire restrictions may be imposed during hot, dry conditions.
