About

Peak One Campground occupies a scenic position on Dillon Reservoir in the White River National Forest, surrounded by the Gore and Tenmile Ranges. The campground has 80 standard nonelectric sites that accommodate tents, trailers, and RVs up to 30 feet. Each site includes a fire ring and picnic table. Facilities include flush toilets and potable water, though vault toilets may temporarily replace flush toilets during maintenance periods. Due to pine beetle mitigation, most hazard trees have been removed, leaving limited shade throughout the campground. Dillon Reservoir is the primary attraction, offering 3,233 acres and 26.8 miles of shoreline for fishing and non-motorized boating. Rainbow and brown trout populate the reservoir, with occasional cutthroat trout from feeder streams. Swimming, water skiing, and SCUBA diving are prohibited. The Summit County trail system provides over 50 miles of paved paths for hiking and biking, including the Old Dillon Reservoir trail with views of the Tenmile Range and Continental Divide. Arapahoe Basin, Keystone, Breckenridge, and Copper Mountain ski resorts are all within 10 miles. All boats require aquatic nuisance species inspections before launching. Reservations are handled through Recreation.gov with check-in at 2:00 PM and checkout at noon.

Directions

From I-70, take Frisco exit 203. Travel south on Highway 9 to Peninsula Recreation Area. Follow the road approximately 2 miles to Peak One Campground. The entrance is one-eighth mile south of the Frisco Peninsula Area.
