About

Hornsilver Campground is a small, lightly-used Forest Service campground in White River National Forest, located directly off Highway 24 approximately 10 miles south of Minturn, Colorado. The campground sits across the highway from Homestake Creek, providing convenient access for anglers. Several trailheads are accessible via Homestake Road (FSR 703), located about one mile south of the campground. This is a primitive campground offering basic amenities including a vault toilet but no potable water. Campers should bring their own drinking water and pack out all trash. Parking spurs accommodate vehicles up to 30 feet in length, making it suitable for smaller RVs and trailers but not large rigs. A food storage order is in effect requiring all food and refuse to be stored in hard-sided vehicles, approved bear-resistant containers, or suspended at least 10 feet off the ground and 4 feet from any tree or pole. The campground has a 10-consecutive-day stay limit.
