About

Third Creek Group Site sits in an open, flat area within Weston Canyon at approximately 5,000 feet elevation in the Caribou-Targhee National Forest. The campground accommodates up to 125 people with space for 30 vehicles, making it well-suited for family reunions, scout groups, and other large gatherings. A large covered picnic pavilion serves as the centerpiece, surrounded by scattered pines and hardwoods that provide partial shade. The site includes three single vault toilets and potable water spigots available during peak season. Tables and grills are provided, and campfires are permitted. Pets are welcome on leash. This is a pack-it-in, pack-it-out facility with no trash service. The campground has no hookups but offers a gravel pull-through driveway that accommodates RVs up to 65 feet. All vehicles must remain in the designated parking area. Recreation opportunities abound nearby. The adjacent Third Creek Trailhead provides access to the Oxford Peak Trail System, open to hikers, mountain bikers, motorcyclists, and OHV users, with hitching racks for horses. Deep Creek Reservoir offers trout fishing, boating, and swimming just a short distance away.

Directions

From Malad, Idaho, travel 3.5 miles north on I-15 to Exit 17. Turn east onto Weston Highway and continue for 7 miles to Upper Deep Creek Reservoir. Turn left on Forest Road 231 and go 1 mile to the campground. Weston Highway is paved; the final mile is a well-maintained gravel road suitable for RVs and trailers. A gate code is provided in your reservation confirmation email.
