About

Goodale Creek Campground is a Bureau of Land Management facility located in the Eastern Sierra of California, near the town of Independence in Inyo County. The campground sits in the high desert landscape of the Owens Valley with views of the Sierra Nevada to the west. It provides access to the Alabama Hills recreation area and serves as a convenient base for exploring the region. The campground offers 43 primitive sites suitable for tents and RVs, with five pull-through spaces available. The maximum recommended RV length is 30 feet. Each site includes a fire pit, picnic table, and lantern holder. Vault toilets are provided, but there is no potable water, hookups, or dump station. The nearest amenities including fuel and supplies are located 12 miles north in Big Pine. Goodale Creek operates year-round on a first-come, first-served basis with no reservations accepted. The nightly fee is $5 per site. Camping is limited to 14 consecutive days at any one campground, with a maximum of 28 days per calendar year across all Bishop Field Office campgrounds. Seasonal fire restrictions may apply.
