Baker Creek Campground

Open

Open year-round. No potable water is available; campers must bring their own drinking water. Sites are available by reservation through ReserveAmerica or on a first-come, first-served basis.

About

Baker Creek Campground is operated by Inyo County and offers 40 campsites nestled along Baker Creek at the base of the Eastern Sierra, just one mile west of Big Pine. The campground provides a rustic high-desert camping experience with vault toilets, picnic tables, fire grills, and fire rings. Sites can accommodate RVs up to 30 feet in length and are set among creekside terrain popular with anglers during fishing season (late April through mid-November). The campground operates year-round and accepts both reservations through ReserveAmerica and walk-in first-come, first-served campers. Sites cost $14 per night per vehicle, with additional vehicles at $5 each. An automated pay station accepts credit cards and cash. Campers should bring their own drinking water as no potable water is available on site. The area is dog-friendly but wildlife is active, so proper food storage is essential. The location provides convenient access to Big Pine Creek, the Ancient Bristlecone Pine Forest, and the Palisade Glacier trailhead. The elevation and Eastern Sierra setting make this a good base for exploring the surrounding Inyo National Forest lands.
