About
Goblin Valley State Park contains one of Utah's most distinctive landscapes, with thousands of sandstone hoodoos eroded into fantastical goblin-like shapes scattered across the valley floor. The developed campground provides 24 sites split between walk-in tent pads and RV spaces, plus a group site accommodating up to 40 people. Two yurts with heating and swamp cooling offer a more comfortable option. All standard sites include shade shelters, picnic tables, and metal fire rings, though no electrical hookups are available. Beyond the main campground, extensive primitive camping is available at the Behind the Butte areas (East, West, and North campgrounds) for $15 per night, plus free dispersed sites near the entrance and at Crack Canyon. These operate first-come-first-served and include vault toilets and fire rings at most sites. High-clearance vehicles are recommended for primitive areas. The park offers hiking through the Valley of the Goblins, mountain biking, disc golf, canyoneering, and OHV access. Its designation as an International Dark Sky Park makes it a prime destination for stargazing. Summer temperatures frequently reach the 90s and 100s, requiring early morning activity and substantial water intake.
