Alcohol Prohibitions
This Order describes acts that are prohibited upon lands, roads and trails within the National Forest System administered by the Forest Service Pacific Northwest Region in regards to alcoholic beverages.
Aquatic Invasive Species

Portion of Forest Service Road 1003 (Tom Creek Road) closed
A portion of Forest Service Road 1003, also known as Tom Creek Road, is closed. The road closure starts at the junction of FSR 10 and FSR 1003 and includes the first 4.1 miles of FSR 1003 to the junction with the 1003-416 and 1003-409 roads.
Sno-park Permits required Nov. 1 to Apr. 30
Sno-Park Permits are required to park in designated sno-parks from November 1 through April 30. Sno-Park Permits are managed by the Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT).

About
French Pete Campground sits at an elevation of 1,800 feet in the Willamette National Forest, nestled at the confluence of French Pete Creek and the South Fork of the McKenzie River. The campground is heavily shaded by a thick canopy of Douglas fir and vine maple, making it a popular retreat from summer heat. With 17 campsites, the facility provides access to both the creek and river for fishing enthusiasts, though McKenzie River trout fishing is catch and release only. The campground serves as an excellent base for exploring the Three Sisters Wilderness Area, with the French Pete Creek Trail providing direct access across the road. The Box Canyon Trail Area offers additional hiking opportunities, and multiple trailheads are within a short drive. Nearby attractions include Terwilliger (Cougar) Hot Springs, Cougar Reservoir, and Hidden Lake, offering opportunities for soaking, boating, and swimming. The campground is located along Aufderheide Scenic Byway (Forest Service Road 19), part of the 220-mile West Cascades Scenic Byway. The remote location and proximity to old-growth forests make this a destination for those seeking a quieter forest camping experience. Sites include picnic tables, fire rings, and access to vault toilets, hand-pump water, and garbage service.
Directions
From Blue River, Oregon, travel four miles east on Highway 126 to Aufderheide Drive (Forest Service Road 19). Continue south on Aufderheide Drive for 11 miles to French Pete Campground.
