About
French Creek Cove Campground offers a peaceful camping experience on the southwest side of Marion Reservoir, a U.S. Army Corps of Engineers lake completed in 1968. The campground features 20 electric campsites, with 18 sites including canopy shelters for shade. Each site is equipped with a fire ring and grill, and six community water hydrants serve the campground. Two vault restrooms provide basic facilities.
The campground includes a boat ramp with loading dock on the northwest side, offering convenient access to the 6,200-acre reservoir. Marion Reservoir is known for excellent fishing, with healthy populations of channel catfish, walleye, white bass, and wipers. The surrounding 6,000 acres of public lands and forested areas provide a scenic backdrop for camping, boating, fishing, and hunting.
Located in Kansas's Flint Hills region, the campground is near the communities of Hillsboro and Marion, which offer restaurants, shops, and nationally recognized art and craft shows. The campground permits three tents or two tents and one RV per site. Off-road vehicles are not permitted.
Directions
From Hillsboro, Kansas, take US-56 west for approximately 2 miles. Turn right onto Limestone Road and continue north for about 3 miles. The campground entrance will be on your left.
