French Cabin Snow Park

Closed — Temporarily closed for the 2024-25 and 2025-2026 winter seasons. Access road plowing has been paused due to budget constraints from reduced snowmobile registration revenue.

About

French Cabin Sno-Park is a winter recreation area situated in the Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest, accessed via Highway 903 and Forest Road 4308, approximately 15 miles north of Cle Elum. The facility is designed primarily for snowmobilers, offering 12 miles of groomed trails through the snow-covered national forest terrain. When operational, the Sno-Park provides approximately 25 parking spaces and portable toilet facilities. The site sits at an elevation of 2,250 feet, making it accessible during winter months when snow conditions permit. No potable water is available on-site, so visitors must bring their own supplies. The Sno-Park operates under the Washington State Parks Winter Recreation Program and requires a valid Washington State Sno-Park Permit from December 1 through March 31. Daily permits cost $25, seasonal permits are $50, and a Special Groomed Trail sticker costs $70 per season. The facility is managed collaboratively by the U.S. Forest Service and Washington State Parks.
