About

Red Mountain Campground sits along the scenic Cle Elum River in the Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest, approximately 16 miles north of Cle Elum on Highway 903/Salmon La Sac Road. This intimate campground features 10 single campsites in a forested setting, with most sites positioned directly along the river. Each campsite includes a fire pit, grill, and picnic table, with vault toilets and a dumpster available on-site. The campground's riverside location provides easy access to the Cle Elum River, with some sites featuring small sandy beach areas perfect for cooling off during warm weather. The moderate usage level means campers can often find a spot, though the campground operates strictly first-come, first-served with no advance reservations available. Payment can be made on-site with cash or check, or via QR code using the Recreation.gov mobile app's Scan and Pay feature where cellular service permits. Campers should come prepared, as no potable water is available at the campground. The location offers access to the surrounding national forest for hiking, fishing, and exploring the Cle Elum River corridor. Interagency Senior and Access Pass holders receive a 50% discount on campsites.
