About

Fox Creek Cabin is a traditional log cabin tucked into a spruce and birch forest along the popular Resurrection Pass Trail on Alaska's Kenai Peninsula. The cabin sits just above Fox Creek and offers views of nearby mountains and meadows. The area is home to moose, black and brown bears, Dall sheep, mountain goats, caribou, and wolves. Berries ripen from mid-July through mid-September. The 16x16-foot cabin sleeps six on bunks (maximum eight occupants) and comes equipped with a wood stove for heat, a table, benches, a splitting maul, and a crosscut saw. An outhouse is located nearby. Guests must bring their own sleeping bags, sleeping pads, cook stove, cooking gear, food, and water treatment supplies since there is no potable water, electricity, mattresses, bedding, or cut firewood provided. All trash and food must be packed out. Access is by hiking, mountain biking, horseback (closed April 1 through June 30), cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, or snowmobile (December 1 through April 30 in alternating winters). The cabin is 11.5 miles from the Resurrection Pass North Trailhead at milepost 4 of Resurrection Creek Road, or 27 miles from the south trailhead at milepost 53.2 on Sterling Highway.

Directions

From Anchorage, take the Seward Highway south to the Hope Highway on the Kenai Peninsula. Follow the Hope Highway to Resurrection Creek Road. The Resurrection Pass North Trailhead is at milepost 4. Hike 11.5 miles south on the Resurrection Pass Trail to reach the cabin. Alternatively, from Sterling Highway at milepost 53.2, take the Resurrection Pass South Trailhead and hike 27 miles north.
