About

Fort Pickens Group Campground offers group tent camping for parties of 10 to 40 people within Gulf Islands National Seashore on Santa Rosa Island near Pensacola Beach, Florida. This dedicated group site provides a more secluded camping experience adjacent to the main Fort Pickens Campground, with easy access to pristine Gulf Coast beaches and historic Fort Pickens. The campground is strictly limited to soft-sided, on-the-ground tents only. No generators, pop-up campers, trailers, pickup campers, RVs, or other hard-sided camping equipment are permitted. The site features its own dedicated facilities including a bathhouse with heated showers and flush toilets, picnic tables, and a large communal fire circle for group gatherings. Campers using the group area must use only the group facilities and cannot access amenities in other campground loops. Parking is limited to 12 vehicles with a maximum length of 20 feet, so carpooling is strongly recommended. The campground operates year-round and requires advance reservations through Recreation.gov. Pricing is tiered based on group size: $20 per night for 10-25 people, and $30 per night for 26-40 people. A seven-day entrance fee for Gulf Islands National Seashore is required in addition to the camping fee. Groups must check in at the Campground Registration office between 9:00 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. with a minimum of 10 occupants. The maximum stay is 14 consecutive days.
