About

Krul Campground is a developed campground located within the Krul Recreation Area of Blackwater River State Forest in Santa Rosa County, Florida. The campground occupies a scenic spot on a 6.5-acre lake approximately one hour northeast of Pensacola. All 43 campsites feature electric hookups (30/50 amp) and potable water hookups, accommodating both RVs and tents. Site equipment lengths range from 29 to 90 feet depending on the specific site. Amenities include a bathhouse with restrooms and showers, an RV dump station, fire rings, grills, and picnic areas. The lake offers a swimming dock and pier, though fishing is not permitted in Krul Lake. Alcohol is prohibited throughout the recreation area. The Sweetwater Hiking Trail departs from the Krul parking lot and runs 1.3 miles to Bear Lake. The first half-mile of the trail is a handicapped-accessible boardwalk featuring a suspension bridge over Sweetwater Creek. Other activities include bird watching, wildlife viewing, nature study, and photography.
