Flamingo Campground

Open — Open year-round with expanded capacity from mid-November through April. During summer months, portions of the campground may be closed. Reservations are highly recommended December through April and can be made through Everglades Guest Services.

About

Flamingo Campground sits at the remote southern tip of Everglades National Park, 38 miles south of the Homestead entrance. As one of two drive-in campgrounds accessible from the Homestead entrance, Flamingo offers a true wilderness experience with modern amenities. The campground operates year-round with varying capacity based on season, with all 274 sites available during peak winter months from mid-January through April. The facility includes 159 reservable sites and 28 first-come, first-served sites, accommodating both RVs up to 35 feet and tents. Electric hookup sites are available in the T-Loop, while the A-Loop offers tent-only sites. All campsites include picnic tables and grills. Solar-heated showers, flush toilets, potable water, and two dump stations serve the campground. An amphitheater hosts seasonal ranger programs. Flamingo's location provides unparalleled access to the park's coastal ecosystems. Multiple hiking and canoe trails depart from the area, and saltwater fishing opportunities abound in Florida Bay. The Guy Bradley Visitor Center and marina are nearby. During the busy winter season from December through April, the area buzzes with activity and reservations are essential. Summer months are quieter with portions of the campground closed, though the facility remains open year-round.

Directions

Located 38 miles south of the main Everglades National Park entrance in Homestead. Take SR-9336 south through the park to reach Flamingo at the end of the road.
