About

Long Pine Key Campground is one of two frontcountry camping options in Everglades National Park, operated by the Flamingo Adventures concession. Open seasonally from November through May, the campground accommodates both tent campers and RVs with 108 individual sites plus a group site. The campground is situated in a pine rockland habitat about 7 miles from the park's main entrance near Homestead, offering a quieter, more forested setting compared to the waterfront Flamingo Campground further south. The facility provides full amenities including flush toilets, free hot showers year-round during operating season, potable water, a dump station, and an amphitheater. Designated accessible campsites are available. Sites accommodate RVs up to 35 feet in length, with one RV and one or two tents permitted per site. All sites are non-electric dry camping. Generators may be operated from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. only. Reservations are handled through Flamingo Adventures and are highly recommended, though some first-come-first-served sites are available. The campground serves as an excellent base for exploring the park's hiking trails, with the Long Pine Key trail system accessible nearby. Campsites include picnic tables and fire grills, with fires permitted in grills only using dead, down wood.
