About

Beaver Campground is tucked into a grove of large old-growth maple and cottonwood trees along the Wind River in the Mount Adams Ranger District of Gifford Pinchot National Forest. This quiet, family-oriented campground offers 24 individual campsites and one group site that can accommodate up to 50 people. Each site includes a fire pit and picnic table, with flush toilets and drinking water from a hand pump available on-site. The Wind River provides excellent fishing for Chinook salmon and steelhead trout (check state regulations for seasons). The nearby Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife Wind River Hatchery offers opportunities to view spring Chinook. Kayaks and canoes are permitted on the river. Beyond fishing, visitors can enjoy hiking, biking, horseback riding, and seasonal berry picking in the surrounding forest. On-site amenities include playground equipment with a swingset, an activity field, and horseshoe games. The campground is one of the closest Forest Service sites to the Columbia River Gorge and Portland, Oregon. The nearby town of Carson offers hot springs, the Wind River Arboretum, restaurants, and shopping.
