About
Paradise Creek Campground occupies a scenic location in the Wind River drainage of Gifford Pinchot National Forest, where Paradise Creek meets the Wind River beneath a canopy of old-growth forest. Sites near the river enjoy privacy from lush undergrowth, while interior sites offer a more open, spacious feel. The campground's remote location provides a quiet atmosphere for those seeking to escape crowds. All 42 back-in sites feature paved parking spurs ranging from 20 to 40 feet in length, with each site equipped with a fire ring and picnic table. Potable water is available from a hand pump, and vault toilets serve the campground. A campground host is present during the operating season. A short, easy trail winds through the campground for casual walks. The Wind River offers excellent fishing for steelhead and Chinook salmon below Wind River Dam (check Washington regulations for seasons and boundaries). Wading is permitted in Paradise Creek, though fishing is not allowed within the campground itself. The nearby Falls Creek Falls Trailhead is about 5 miles away, and the Lava Butte Trail #200 is accessible from the campground.
Directions
From Vancouver, WA, travel east on Highway 14 to Carson, WA. Then travel 14 miles northwest on Wind River Highway to the forest boundary. At the forest boundary, continue north on Forest Road 30 for 6 miles to the campground.
