About

Murray Bay Campground is located on the Hungry Horse Reservoir in Montana's Flathead National Forest, high in the Rocky Mountains and surrounded by towering peaks. The reservoir, created by the 10th highest dam in the United States, spans 27,750 acres and provides excellent opportunities for boating, swimming, and fishing for cutthroat trout. The campground offers 20 sites, with 11 available for reservation and 9 designated as first-come, first-served. Each site is equipped with a picnic table and fire ring with grill. Accessible vault toilets and drinking water from hand pumps are provided. A concrete boat ramp within the campground provides direct access to the reservoir. Situated approximately 31 miles southwest of Glacier National Park's West Glacier entrance and 22 miles south of Martin City, Murray Bay serves as an excellent basecamp for exploring the region. A food storage order is in effect, and visitors should not transport firewood to prevent pest spread.
