About

Elijah Clark State Park sits on 447 acres along the western shore of Clarks Hill Lake, one of the Southeast's largest lakes at 71,100 acres. Named after Revolutionary War frontiersman and Georgia war hero Elijah Clark, the park blends historical education with abundant recreational opportunities. The main campground features 172 sites nestled in the forest, most with electric and water hookups, picnic tables, and fire rings. For those seeking more solitude, 10 walk-in tent sites provide extra privacy while remaining accessible to the lake. The park can accommodate RVs up to 50 feet in length, with pull-through sites available. On the water, visitors enjoy four boat ramps, an accessible fishing pier, and a sandy swimming beach perfect for cooling off during Georgia summers. Twenty two-bedroom cottages line the lake's edge for those preferring more comfort. The park's historical significance is showcased through a replica log cabin of the Clark homestead, displaying period furniture and tools from circa 1780, open weekends April through November. Visitors can also pay respects at the graves of Elijah and Hannah Clark. Additional amenities include miniature golf, picnic shelters, playgrounds, and paddlecraft rentals, making this a versatile destination for anglers, boaters, history enthusiasts, and families alike.
