About
Bunker Hill Campground clings to the northwest shore of Lemolo Lake in Umpqua National Forest's Diamond Lake Ranger District. This small, rustic campground features just five campsites beneath a lodgepole pine forest, making it one of the more secluded options in the Lemolo Lake area. Bald eagles frequently soar above the heavily wooded Bunker Hill, adding to the wilderness atmosphere. The campground is particularly popular with anglers. Lemolo Lake supports healthy populations of German brown trout, Eastern brook trout, rainbow trout, and kokanee salmon, with depths reaching 100 feet in places. Beyond fishing, visitors enjoy boating, kayaking, canoeing, swimming, and water skiing. The nearby Lemolo Falls Trail offers a steep traverse down into North Umpqua Canyon for views of the 150-foot waterfall. This is a primitive campground with vault toilets but no potable water or garbage services. Campers must bring their own drinking water and pack out all trash. Each site includes a picnic table, fire ring, and grill. The 22-foot maximum vehicle length makes this campground unsuitable for larger RVs.
