About
Whitehorse Falls Campground is a small, serene retreat set beneath towering old-growth Douglas-fir trees in Oregon's Umpqua National Forest. The five campsites offer a peaceful escape with easy access to Whitehorse Falls, where the Clearwater River tumbles into a clear pool. A day-use area with a viewing platform provides excellent views of the waterfall. Situated along the Rogue-Umpqua National Scenic Byway, the campground is approximately 10 miles from Lemolo Lake and 15 miles from Diamond Lake Recreation Area. Each site includes a picnic table and fire ring. Campers should be prepared for a primitive experience: there is no potable water on-site (filter or treat water from nearby sources), no trash services (pack it out), and no cell coverage. The campground operates on a first-come, first-served basis with payment via the Recreation.gov Scan & Pay mobile app or fee envelopes on-site. Check-in is 1 p.m. and check-out is 11 a.m. Quiet hours are observed from 10 p.m. to 8 a.m.
