About
East Fork Campground sits within the 68,000-acre Black River State Forest in Jackson County, Wisconsin. As the smallest and most remote of the forest's three family campgrounds, it offers 24 rustic non-electric sites in a natural wooded setting. The campground provides direct access to the East Fork of the Black River via a boat launch suitable for canoes and kayaks, with some campsites positioned right along the riverbank. Facilities are basic but adequate for a rustic camping experience: two vault toilet buildings, hand pump water, firewood sales, and a garbage and recycling station. Each site includes a fire ring and picnic table. The campground does not have showers, electric hookups, or ADA-designated sites. Reservations are required and can be made through wisconsin.goingtocamp.com or by calling 1-888-947-2757. The surrounding forest offers extensive recreational opportunities including hiking trails, ATV riding, hunting, and wildlife viewing. Two forks of the Black River flow through the forest under high sandstone abutments, creating scenic paddling routes through pine and oak woodlands.
