About

Established in 1948, Wildcat Mountain State Park Campground occupies a striking ridgetop position above the Kickapoo River in Wisconsin's scenic Driftless Area. The family campground sits near a popular overlook with sweeping views of the river valley below. All 30 family sites and 20 cart-in sites feature picnic tables and fire rings, with the family loop offering modern amenities including flush toilets, hot showers, and an RV dump station. The cart-in camping area provides a more primitive experience with vault toilets and a drinking fountain, though showers remain within walking distance. For equestrians, a separate 24-site horse campground operates seasonally from May 1 through November 14, featuring corrals, hitching posts, loading ramps, and vault toilets. The park offers 21 miles of trails for hiking and horseback riding, with night sky viewing programs and access to canoe and kayak rentals in nearby Ontario village. A campground host is present during summer months.
