About
Indian Mound Shelter is a reservable day-use picnic shelter at East Fork State Park in Clermont County, Ohio. Situated near the park's beach area and boat ramp along Harsha Lake, the shelter provides a convenient location for group picnics and events with a capacity of 75 people. The shelter takes its name from the nearby Elk Lick Mound, a prehistoric earth mound built by the Adena culture and added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1975. East Fork State Park spans 7,480 acres and is one of the largest state parks in Ohio, offering diverse recreational opportunities just 25 miles from Cincinnati. This is a day-use facility only; overnight camping is not permitted at the shelter. For overnight stays, visitors should consider the park's Class A Campground with 416 sites or the free backcountry camping areas along the Backpacking and Perimeter trails.
Directions
From Cincinnati, take I-275 to State Route 125 East. Continue on SR 125 to Bantam Road and turn left. Follow signs to the park entrance. The shelter is located near the beach area along Harsha Lake.
